About The Position

Visiting Angels of Richardson is hiring an Evening Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Plano, Richardson, Garland, Wylie, Rockwall, Mesquite, Forney, and other nearby communities. Caregivers help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve companionship, household assistance, meal preparation, mobility support, and help with daily routines. The caregiver must be prepared to respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role offers a range of shift options, including full-time, part-time, PRN, and short shifts, with 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of professional caregiving experience.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and a desire to provide meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
