JOB SUMMARY Evaluate student records from other institutions primarily to determine applicability of transfer course work and, as needed, to determine transfer admission eligibility. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Requirements

  • Equivalent to one year of experience related to academic records evaluation required.
  • Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments without detailed instructions.
  • Knowledge of online student information systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, faculty and students.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply academic and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Personal computer, word-processing and spreadsheet software, imaging software, calculator.
  • Demonstrated ability to treat all customers (students, faculty and staff colleagues) with dignity and respect, empathy, fairness and professionalism, consistent with the university mission, values and strategic vision.
  • Ensures operational integrity and continuity by maintaining detailed descriptions of responsibilities, ranging from daily tasks to strategic activities and outcomes, and makes them available to supervisor.
  • Ensures quality, usability and integrity of system data by working within approved processes and testing procedures.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Responsibilities

  • Review file to verify all documents have been received by utilizing PeopleSoft and imaging software.
  • Determine transferability of courses not taken at CSULB utilizing PeopleSoft, imaging software, and other articulation tools.
  • Organize and keep current reference materials, including policies and procedures.
