About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its PCI Atlanta 101 operations based in Smyrna, GA. This individual will be responsible for performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects, establishing labor productivities for estimates, and maintaining positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing. The role also involves soliciting subcontractor pricing, understanding market conditions to establish margin percentages, and participating in internal bid reviews. Additionally, the estimator will be involved in customer alignment objectives, contract administration for secured projects, preparing wage and benefit schedules, and assisting in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team. Other duties may include change order management or billings depending on the project(s). This position is safety sensitive.

Requirements

  • Must have at least 5-7 years’ experience estimating construction projects
  • Must have at least 10 years of total experience within the construction industry
  • Experience with estimating or managing specialty scopes of construction
  • Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods
  • Has a record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail and cost analysis skills
  • Ability to accurately read project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift
  • Ability to work effectively both in a collaborative team environment and independently
  • Has capacity and willingness to expand upon or acquire new knowledge about product lines/scopes
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with drywall and framing for commercial interior projects.
  • Experience working with union representatives is preferred.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Local to Atlanta metro

Responsibilities

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  • Establish labor productivities for estimate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
  • Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).
