About The Position

As an Estimator, you will support power delivery construction projects by preparing accurate estimates and bids, reviewing plans and specifications, and analyzing project costs. The role requires understanding of transmission line and substation construction, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and proficiency with cost estimating software. You will create detailed cost estimates to support management's competitive bidding and pricing decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in utility construction estimating, specifically transmission line or substation.
• Experience with EPC estimating.
• Strong background in Microsoft Office applications and construction estimating software.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Sound organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate bid hours and bid sheets for substation and transmission line projects.
• Contact suppliers to gather and confirm pricing information.
• Prepare detailed take-offs and staking sheets for accurate project estimation.
• Review bid documents to ensure thorough understanding and accuracy.
• Perform site visits as needed to collect information and assess project requirements.
• Collect and analyze historical cost data to improve estimates for current and future projects.
• Develop estimates to support management in project planning, organization, and scheduling.
• Interpret blueprints and other documentation to estimate time, cost, materials, and labor.
