About The Position
The Estimator will research bid specifications and estimate costs of Signal, Lighting, ITS construction and services for assigned departments and projects.
Requirements
- Heavy Bid/HCSS software experience preferred
- Salesforce Software experience helpful
- Excellent in Microsoft Office Suite particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business preferred
- Extensive signal/ITS/Lighting experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Responsibilities
- Prepare Bid/Opportunity folders, including downloading project files, and setting up cloud-based ShareFile project folder(s)
- Request material and subcontractor quotes based on the customer specifications
- Analyze and select best available quotes for use in the estimating process
- Propose best Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) items, specialty products and services that meet customer specifications to department managers
- Utilize Estimating software to input cost data and generate estimate reports for use by area managers
- Prepare labor, equipment and material costs for items based on specifications
- Prepare bid documentation and submit to agency website or for standard mail service
- Performs other duties as assigned
