Job Summary: The Estimator is a supporting role on the estimating team, responsible for cost gathering for produced in house and outsourced in the most efficient & economical method.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience estimating offset, wide format and/or dye sublimation printing jobs.
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Must have a working knowledge of offset and wide format printing processes.
  • Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.
  • Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Works independently, coordinates well with a cohesive team.
  • Flexible, self-managed and able to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects, multiple details and tight deadlines, often with competing demands.
  • Ability to learn & retain knowledge of substrates, print processes, issues that affect quality, color, and imaging.
  • Ability to communicate complex and/or technical topics in understandable “layperson’s terms.”

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma
  • 3+ years of print estimating experience in offset & grand format (or similar Digital Print equipment-a Plus)
  • Proactive, creative and cost-effective approach identifying & solving problems
  • Attentional to detail with an analytic focus
  • Experience working with an ERP (or similar Enterprise) system

Responsibilities

  • Based on specifications supplied from the account team, create a cost-effective & efficient estimate to maximize production and the bottom line in I quote
  • Obtain outside material/service cost as needed
  • Work together with purchasing, planning & production
  • Ensures timeline for expectations are met
  • Provide competitive pricing and alternative options
  • Work with ERP team to monitor system update, issues and challenges
  • Develops knowledge of process, materials, equipment and outside partners to determine the best way to manufacture
  • Other duties as assigned
