About The Position

As part of a fast-paced, collaborative and tight knit Special Projects team within Axiom Builders, the Estimator will manage the cost estimates for our diverse pipeline of TI, small ground-up, and commercial fit-out projects; effectively communicate details and data to our project teams, clients, owners and consultants. The Estimator will join a team striving to provide best-in-class preconstruction services for our clients.

Requirements

One to two (1-2) years of experience working on complex projects from beginning to end, ideally in the commercial or larger TI space
Able to balance multiple deliverables at different phases of completion and complexity
Keen interest in leveraging technology and AI to progress our estimating process
Knowledge of trade practices, market conditions, and building materials
Experience and comfortable working with on-screen takeoff tools and Excel
Certificate, diploma, or degree in Building Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, and/or PQS
High level of attention to detail to drive accuracy and consistency throughout your work
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of employees and owners, architects, and subtrades

Responsibilities

Assemble all estimating input including labour, material, equipment and trade pricing with the support of a larger team
Build strong relationships and long-term partnership opportunities with our trades and suppliers
Collaborate with peers in estimating, virtual construction, project management to form a value-add preconstruction team
Prepare and analyze labour needs and breakdowns to assist with budgets and planning
Review designs to identify areas of improvement and opportunity for cost efficiencies
Complete project scope of work reviews to ensure completeness of estimates, and all technical specifications, subcontractor scopes, and general condition items have been quantified and costed
