Column Technical Services is seeking a skilled Estimator Project Manager to join a vertically integrated construction company in Magna, Utah. In this role, you will contribute to both material supply and infrastructure-focused construction projects, where your estimating and project management expertise will directly drive project success. Requirements

  • 7+ to 10 years of experience in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.
  • Civil construction and estimating experience.
  • Ability to maintain proper licensure, medical card, and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HCSS preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for estimating public and private projects, preparing bids, meeting with owners, completing take-offs, reviewing plans and specifications, and managing scheduling.
  • Support superintendents, coordinate subcontractors, prepare and review billings, track project costs, and assist with identifying and resolving issues.
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, pre-bid meeting details, and conduct site visits to determine the full scope of work required for bid/estimate preparation.
  • Identify labor, equipment, and material needs and incorporate this information into accurate bid/estimate proposals.
  • Submit complete bid/estimate packages to owners, managers, and/or general contractors in a timely, professional manner and provide clarification as needed.
  • Deliver prompt, professional service to current and prospective clients, including support with design, planning, and pricing.
  • Provide administrative project management for awarded contracts.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Manager and field leadership to establish project objectives, procedures, schedules, and performance requirements.
  • May provide direct or indirect supervision of field crews, foremen, or superintendents.
  • Maintain documentation of quantities and complete work to support forecasting and future project performance.
  • Maintain Support Construction/Operations teams to ensure efficient and profitable project execution, including scheduling, procurement, and change order/supplemental work processes.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and progress.
  • Partner with the Contract Administrator to review and process financial components of contracts (billings, subcontractor payments, material payments, collections, etc.).
  • Manage assigned projects (responsible for all projects bid unless reassigned).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to materials, equipment operation/repair, and production challenges; communicate concerns with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, and all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
