Performs estimating tasks necessary to qualify bid requests and prepare estimates/proposals for telecommunications, AV and electrical integration projects in conjunction with customer specifications. Requirements

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
High school diploma; supplemental knowledge of the telecommunications industry desirable.
Minimum of ten years experience in the structured cabling industry in either installation or estimating practices.
Above average computer aided drafting and mathematical skills preferred.
Basic understanding of networking telecommunications, A/V and electrical components.
Thorough understanding of the EIA/TIA telecommunications standards.
Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised.
Strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M and customer safety policies and procedures.
Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures.
Performs estimating of all field and testing hours and validates all materials and equipment costs necessary to provide a complete scope of work.
Conducts field surveys and attends pre-bid meetings as required to prepare accurate estimates.
Has knowledge of the latest industry materials, installation techniques and attends related training sessions.
Assists in keeping current estimating system and spreadsheets up to date by material costs and labor unit validation.
Performs basic AutoCad tasks such as plotting, overlays and symbol translation.
Maintains a close working relationship with BAS, electrical construction, high voltage, and life safety & security estimators to maximize business opportunities.
Attends and provides weekly estimating updates at our weekly NS operational meetings.
Meets with customers both existing and new to determine their specific needs and offers cost effective alternatives.
Performs project and service kick off meetings when needed.
Attends customer requested project meetings to review on-going project work.
Regularly recommends improved methods of design, estimation and installation practices.
