About The Position

Performs a variety of entry-level estimating duties associated with developing detailed construction estimates through quantity take-offs and interaction with subcontractors and suppliers. The job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and/or fax machines.

Requirements

• 0–3 years of estimating experience.
• Familiarity with construction materials, means, and methods.
• Strong math and technology ability with an analytical mindset.
• Proficiency in relevant software.
• Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
• Thoroughness and reliability.
• Excellent organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• A BS/BA in engineering, construction science, architecture, or a relevant discipline is strongly preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity and cost take-offs.
• Distribute bid documents.
• Understand the project or program and its requirements.
• Obtain and review proposals and quotes from subcontractors or vendors.
• Build relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and architects.
