Summer 2027 Estimating Intern
About The Position
PCL Construction Services, Inc. is hiring a Summer 2027 Estimating Intern in Denver, Colorado. The intern will support the estimating team on innovative construction projects and gain experience with quantity surveys, bid preparation, subcontractor coordination, and job-site visits. Requirements
- Desire a career in construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
- Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience using any of the following: On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners.
- Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; PCL will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Available to work full time in Denver, Colorado, from May to August.
- Must pass a substance abuse test conducted by a third party as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
- Review and perform quantity survey assignments with a lead estimator.
- Perform general sub-trade solicitation duties.
- Manage bid document control.
- Perform bid-day assignments.
- Review and recap sub-trade bids.
- Visit job sites periodically.
- Use in-house estimating software (BEST Estimating).
- Develop relationships with subcontractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
