About The Position

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is hiring a Summer 2027 Estimating Intern in Denver, Colorado. The intern will support estimating activities on projects, working with a lead estimator and interacting with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners. The role includes reviewing quantity surveys, supporting bid preparation and bid-day activities, reviewing subcontractor bids, visiting job sites periodically, and using PCL’s in-house BEST Estimating software. The position is full-time in Denver from May to August 2027.

Requirements

• Desire to pursue a career in construction project management, field supervision, or estimating.
• Be pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Architectural Drafting & Estimating Technology, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with project personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and owners.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications and perform quantity takeoffs.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; PCL will not sponsor an employment visa for this position.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Available to work full-time in Denver, Colorado, from May to August.
• Employment is contingent on passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using On-Screen Takeoff, Microsoft Excel and Word, Revit, Acrobat, and other computer software.

Responsibilities

• Review and perform quantity survey assignments with the lead estimator.
• Perform general subcontractor solicitation duties.
• Control bid documents.
• Perform bid-day assignments.
• Review and recap subcontractor bids.
• Visit job sites periodically.
• Use PCL’s in-house BEST Estimating software.
• Develop relationships with subcontractors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
