About The Position

We are looking for an Estimating Intern to join the team in Salt Lake City, Utah. The intern will learn about the heavy civil construction industry through hands-on work alongside field crews and by assisting with project operations, estimating-related activities, scheduling, coordination, and technical oversight. The role includes participating in construction meetings, understanding plans, assisting with surveying, and supporting project managers. The company provides hands-on training and opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

Pursuing a BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a closely related field.
Desire to pursue a career in estimating or cost management.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Self-directed and maintains high integrity; takes pride in work.
Accurate and organized.
Good comprehension of construction drawings and specifications.
Understand and adhere to Personal Protection Equipment requirements.

Nice To Haves

Field and/or internship experience.
Experience with On-Screen Takeoff.

Responsibilities

Work alongside laborers, operators, and truck drivers in all aspects of heavy civil construction.
Manage critical path timelines.
Participate in construction meetings with owners, architects, and engineers.
Understand construction plans and assist in surveying.
Assist with day-to-day management of overall project operations, people, and processes while learning the facets of the construction industry.
Assist Project Managers with technical compliance and oversight of construction activities and field operations.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and related technical documents.
Assist with project scheduling and coordination.
Perform other duties as required.
