About The Position

Coker, Robb & Cannon, Family Lawyers, is seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Estate Planning & Probate Attorney to join their dynamic and supportive team in Collin, Denton, and Tarrant Counties. This role offers the opportunity to develop a thriving probate, guardianship, and estate planning practice within an established and respected family law firm. The firm has a 25+ year history and is one of the most trusted family law firms in North Texas. The position involves collaboration with a team that values professionalism, responsiveness, and results, with mentorship and support provided for litigation, complex cases, and practice development. The firm offers continuing legal education (CLE) and professional development resources, a supportive, team-oriented culture with meaningful responsibility early on, and a 35-hour work week with most Friday afternoons off.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in probate, guardianship, and estate planning law.
  • 2+ years of experience in probate, guardianship, and/or estate planning.
  • Some experience with contested probate or guardianship litigation (or willingness to develop those skills).
  • Working knowledge of estate planning, with interest in expanding into more complex planning strategies.
  • Strong organizational and case management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Initiative and motivation to contribute to practice growth and develop referral networks.
  • Professionalism and the ability to build trust with clients during sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

  • Handle probate and guardianship matters from start to finish, including both uncontested and contested cases.
  • Represent clients in contested probate and guardianship litigation with firm support and resources.
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, and related instruments.
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, applications, and orders.
  • Advise clients on estate administration and planning strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, courts, and referral sources.
  • Actively participate in networking and business development efforts to grow the practice.
