About The Position

The Esports Student Assistant is responsible for supporting the creation, management, and execution of Esports programs under ASI. This position requires skills in event and tournament management, customer service, marketing coordination, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of the gaming and esports industry, as well as familiarity with popular esports titles and platforms.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled California State University Fullerton student in good academic standing
  • Must receive First Aid/CPR/AED Lay Responder Certification within 3 months of hire
  • Must complete: Bloodborne Pathogens, Campus Health and Safety Requirements, CSU’S Discrimination Harassment Prevention Program, Data Security and FERPA, Gender Equity and Title IX, Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the TBB & Esports Coordinator on special projects and initiatives related to the growth of the esports program.
  • Develop and coordinate esports programming, including Titan Cup and Titan XP events.
  • Submit marketing requests, collaborate with graphics designers, and manage marketing material through to final printing.
  • Assist with the opening, closing, and daily maintenance of the Esports Lounge.
  • Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming, inclusive, and professional environment for all Esports Lounge guests.
  • Ensure guests using the Esports Lounge follow all policies and procedures.
  • Manage Esports Lounge operations during Titan Cup matches, including setup and technical preparations.
  • Assist with broadcasting Titan Cup matches, manage live streams, provide commentary, and ensure high-quality production.
  • Assist with managing social media platforms (Twitter, and Instagram) by collaborating with ASI Marketing to post content to promote events, matches, and team achievements.
  • Monitor and manage the ASI CSUF’s Discord server, including announcements, scheduling, moderation, and community engagement.
  • Support general community management by engaging with students, answering questions, and promoting inclusivity within the esports program.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues related to gaming PCs, broadcast equipment, and software within the Esports Lounge.
  • Conduct post-event surveys to gather participant feedback, collect relevant data, and prepare summary reports to share with the TBB & Esports Coordinator.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with various A.S. and University departments
  • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies.
  • Reports accidents to supervisor and reviews changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Reports maintenance problems and/or broken and unsafe equipment to the appropriate party or supervisor immediately
