About The Position

The ESports Coach will help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation for the values of discipline and sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem. This role involves coaching individual participants, planning practice sessions, and working with the athletics director on scheduling and equipment recommendations. The coach is also responsible for maintaining records, ensuring facility safety, establishing performance criteria, and enforcing sportsmanlike conduct.

Requirements

Experience in coaching or a related field.
Knowledge of ESports and competitive gaming.
Ability to teach skills and strategies.
Understanding of sportsmanship and discipline.
Ability to maintain records and paperwork.
Knowledge of safety protocols for facilities.
Ability to establish performance criteria.
Supervisory skills for assistant coaches.

Experience as an Athletics Director or Principal.

Responsibilities

Coaches individual participants in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in the sport involved.
Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.
Works closely with the athletics director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms as appropriate.
Maintains necessary attendance forms, insurance records, and similar paperwork.
Oversees the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
Establishes performance criteria for his sport.
Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times, and establishes and oversees penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
Supervises assistant coaches in his sport.
Perform other duties as assigned.
