About The Position

This is a Summer/Year Round Program position for ESL/BSI/GED Part-Time Teachers. The role requires candidates to hold a NJ Instructional certificate with appropriate subject area endorsements. Successful candidates will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of their content field and the ability to organize it into lessons for secondary students. They must also possess excellent integrity, good moral character, and initiative. A strong understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and related research is essential. The ideal candidate will exhibit enthusiasm and strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, staff, administration, and the community. Effective oral and written communication in English, including proper grammar and vocabulary, is required. This position is pending budget availability and is open for ten (10) consecutive days following the posting date on the Paterson Public Schools website. Requirements

• Hold a NJ Instructional certificate with appropriate subject area endorsement(s) for position held.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the content field.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
• Exhibit enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, and the community.
• Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary.
• Must be currently employed by District.
• Meet such alternatives to above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
