About The Position

An effective ESL Instructor will take the lead in guiding English as a second language through an exciting language learning journey. Requirements

• A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proven experience as an ESL Instructor
• Strong command of the English language, including excellent grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans and adapt them to different proficiency levels and age groups.
• Empathy and cultural sensitivity when working with diverse student populations from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
• A strengths-based approach to fostering language development that employs patience and enthusiasm
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students and Meadowlands Family Success Center Director
• Flexibility to offer in-person, hybrid, or distance learning when weather conditions or

Nice To Haves

• Certification in TESOL, TEFL, or other relevant ESL teaching credentials is a plus.
• Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into language instruction is an advantage

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging lesson plans according to learners needs and language abilities.
• Utilize various mediums, materials, and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to motivate students to achieve their language learning goals.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, cultural exchange, and language fluency.
• Include cultural topics and discussions in the curriculum to promote cross-cultural awareness and understanding.
• Keep up-to-date with current ESL teaching methodologies, language trends, and relevant educational resources to improve teaching techniques.
