Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) year of previous work/volunteer experience with juveniles is required.
  • A valid, active driver's license and clean driving record are required.
  • Must be available to travel.
  • Must be 21 years old or older.
  • Ability to read, write, and converse proficiently in English and Spanish and translate written Spanish into English.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, OneDrive) with the ability to learn new software
  • GED

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human service field is preferred but not required.
  • At least one (1) year of ORR residential care services experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting intake services by completing documentation, taking photos, and providing youth with an overview of the program’s services and rules.
  • Responsible for transporting youth to court, medical, and discharge appointments as required, while always adhering to all traffic and safety laws and providing direct supervision of youth in care while adhering to the escort policy and procedures, as well as airport and flight rules.
  • Recognize escalating behaviors and intervene when necessary to ensure safety and security by applying the Crisis Prevention Intervention model to deescalate and stabilize the youth.
  • Ensure all youth-related forms and progress notes are properly completed to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Assist in providing support with the planning and coordination of educational events and recreational activities for the youth, and covering restroom breaks, posts, or covering shifts for the YCW department as needed.
  • Ensure completion of Discharge Packet to include the Verification of Release (if applicable), Transfer of Custody or Transfer Request and Tracking Form.
