About The Position

The ES Floor Technician works in Environmental Services at Edna Tina Wilson Living Center in Rochester, New York. The role helps maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment through careful floor care and cleaning, with strong attention to detail and customer service. The position is full-time, scheduled for days from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

• Friendly, kind, and positive attitude.
• Ability to perform physically intensive work, including lifting materials up to 100 lbs., climbing ladders, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces.
• Strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment.
• High visual and auditory alertness, particularly around moving machinery.
• Ability to recognize hazards, perform tasks accurately, and follow safety standards.

Nice To Haves

• Environmental Services (housekeeping) experience.
• Previous floor care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning in assigned areas, including washing ceilings and walls; mopping hallways, stairwells, and public areas; and washing, waxing, and/or vacuuming floors.
• Operate manual, battery-powered, and electric equipment, including mechanical floor cleaners, polishers, and scrubbers.
• Clean and maintain equipment, monitor assigned areas and equipment for needed repairs, and inform the supervisor.
• Gather and dispose of garbage, waste, and soiled linen; remove trash in the prescribed manner.
