About The Position

The ERP & Business Process Specialist supports the IT and ERP Senior Manager in the support, enhancement and upgrade of Briess’s core business systems, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Aptean Food & Beverage. This role is the day-to-day point of contact for ERP issues and requests across Purchasing, Sales, Production, Quality, Planning, Logistics, Finance and Inventory Control. Beyond system support, the role is expected to document how work is performed today, design improved processes with the business owner, and implement those improvements in the system so the process, the controls and the data all live inside the ERP rather than in spreadsheets and manual workarounds. The role also supports integrations with CRM, Transportation Management (TMS), Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Power Platform and approved reporting and automation tools, and executes the approved IT project portfolio priorities. This role will be located at our Chilton WI location.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant ERP experience.
  • Strong proficiency with business systems and Microsoft applications.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, relational database concepts and data modeling, with the ability to validate and reconcile data across systems.
  • Experience with a manufacturing ERP is strongly preferred, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a food or process manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Fabric and DAX is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience documenting and improving business processes, including process mapping and writing SOPs.
  • Experience leading training and change management for system or process changes across multiple departments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a manufacturing ERP is strongly preferred, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in a food or process manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage new user setup, licensing and permissions.
  • Respond quickly to daily user questions and issues to minimize workflow disruptions.
  • Research, troubleshoot, test and implement solutions to issues.
  • Monitor system performance and external integrations.
  • Escalate issues to the IT and ERP Senior Manager and to Aptean or other support partners and manage support tickets through to resolution.
  • Maintain user access, roles and permissions in line with segregation of duties and approval authority requirements, and support periodic access reviews.
  • Facilitate requirements sessions with stakeholders and document current state processes, future state processes, business owner, control points and measurable success criteria before build begins.
  • Build and execute documented test plans, track defects, coordinate user acceptance testing and obtain business owner sign-off prior to deployment.
  • Lead training and change management sessions to facilitate successful user adoption.
  • Assist with the scoping, testing, deployment and maintenance of configurations, extensions and customizations, favoring standard functionality wherever practical to limit upgrade risk and long-term cost.
  • Confirm and report the realized benefit of each implemented change against the success criteria agreed at the start of the project.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to move manual, spreadsheet based and paper-based processes into the ERP or an approved Microsoft 365 workflow, including accounts payable, expense, purchasing and capital request processes.
  • Design processes so that approval thresholds, routing and audit trails are enforced by the system rather than by manual follow up.
  • Support master data governance for items, vendors, customers, BOMs and costing data, including standards, ownership and periodic review.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by producing system evidence such as approval history, access records and configuration documentation.
  • Support monthly SaaS upgrade cycles with research and testing of new features.
  • Monitor and manage extension versions and release notes.
  • Perform extensive regression testing on existing processes, security, customizations and external integrations to minimize upgrade disruptions.
  • Prepare and train end users for new feature releases.
  • Create and maintain user documentation, process maps, configuration records, data definitions SOP’s where needed for new functionality, critical processes, controls and training.
  • Maintain a current record of system configuration decisions, customizations and integrations so knowledge is not concentrated in a single individual.
  • Support the design, testing, monitoring and documentation of APIs and integrations across Business Central, CRM, TMS, EAM, Power Platform and approved reporting tools.
  • Monitor Power Platform Dataflows, schedules refreshes, and integration exceptions, investigate failure and drive timely resolutions for business-critical reporting and workflows.
  • Gain understanding of integrated systems: CRM, Enterprise Asset Management and Transportation Management.
  • Support users with high-level issues and manage support requests and tickets with external partners.
  • Assist with customizations and enhancements of these systems.
