ERP Applications & Project Lead

FloraCraftLudington, MI

About The Position

FloraCraft Corporation is seeking an ERP Applications & Project Lead with a passion for business applications and strong project management skills. This role will focus on managing the company's Plex ERP system, which is used across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and finance. While Plex expertise is not required, a willingness to learn and grow into the go-to person for the ERP is essential. The role involves managing a third-party consulting partner for complex technical work, leading ERP projects from start to finish, and providing day-to-day application support. This is a build-your-expertise role with a clear growth path towards full ownership of the Plex environment.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for business applications.
  • Working knowledge of a few Plex ERP modules OR hands-on experience with another manufacturing ERP (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Infor, QAD, IQMS/DELMIAworks, or similar) and confidence in the ability to learn Plex.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple workstreams, keep vendors and stakeholders on schedule, and follow through to completion.
  • Experience managing or coordinating third-party vendors, consultants, or service providers, or a clear aptitude and eagerness to own that relationship.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations (production, inventory, shipping/receiving, purchasing, or order-to-cash).
  • Strong communication skills with both technical teams and business users.
  • Good documentation habits.
  • Comfort with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Self-starter mindset with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal direction.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep Plex expertise.
  • Plex Classic-to-UX migration exposure.
  • SQL skills for data lookups and reporting.
  • EDI familiarity (850/855/856/810 documents, trading-partner setups).
  • Experience with planning tools (e.g., DemandCaster) or BI environments (e.g., Power BI, Snowflake).
  • Project management certification (CAPM, PMP, or Agile).
  • Experience building super-user programs or delivering end-user training.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the third-party ERP/EDI consulting partner, including setting priorities, approving work, tracking deliverables, and ensuring accountability to service levels.
  • Lead ERP-related projects end-to-end, including requirements gathering, scoping, timeline management, testing, training, and go-live.
  • Coordinate new EDI trading-partner setups and system changes, documenting business requirements and coordinating testing.
  • Own status reporting for IT leadership, covering project progress, open issues, vendor performance, and upcoming decisions.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for Plex questions and issues, triaging and resolving problems or escalating them as needed.
  • Handle day-to-day ERP administration, including user access, security roles, screen and module configuration, and master data integrity.
  • Follow and improve the change control process for system changes.
  • Support recurring business processes in Plex, such as period-end activities and annual pricing uploads.
  • Build internal Plex knowledge through training and documentation.
  • Create and lead a "Plex Champion" network of department super-users.
  • Drive the migration from Plex Classic to the Plex UX interface.
  • Write and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and system documentation.
