About The Position

We are looking for a strong candidate to join the Enterprise Applications team in our Innovation & Technology Department. The candidate will share responsibilities for the operational functionality of the Tyler Enterprise ERP ecosystem and other applications. The ERP & Enterprise Applications Lead is responsible for providing coordination of team activities with the Enterprise Applications Team. This includes anticipating, recognizing and resolving issues; overseeing team processes and assessing areas of opportunity to build team skills and improve effectiveness and efficiency. In addition, this position helps the organization leverage technology to improve business processes and increase productivity by providing business and systems analysis, recommendations for business process changes, and technology recommendations. This is a highly engaging role that will require critical thinking, thought Leadership, cross-functional collaboration and a strong customer-service mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or similar field of study plus five (5) years of related work experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of related education, experience, certification and training may also be considered.
  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the support, configuration or implementation of enterprise business applications such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Enterprise Content Management (ECM), LaserFiche, SharePoint, Public Safety Systems etc.
  • Ability to plan, assign and supervise the work of others.
  • Must be self-motivated and well-organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in trouble shooting, researching and resolving technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational ,interpersonal, and communication skills; strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database concepts: views, tables, fields, and reporting.
  • Proficient with creating complex and efficient reports; preferably using SSRS.
  • Ability to understand, gather and document system requirements from the business users.
  • Ability to realize, document and implement changes to increase reliability and efficiency.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and communicate effectively relating to those projects; effective in meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, basic PC desktop support, basic networking, and backup strategies and hardware.
  • Experience working with relational databases, such as SQL Server.
  • Experience supporting municipal government applications (e.g. Tyler Munis, Tyler Energov, Tyler lncode ).
  • Experience working with business Intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Cognos, Crystal Reports, SSRS, or Power BI).
  • Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Directly coordinates with staff, including overseeing and participating in team processes, assigning and prioritizing work, and assisting with setting employee goals.
  • Provides leadership in delivering technical support and improving business processes; performs vendor management and oversight as needed and serves on the Change Advisory Board (CAB).
  • Performs needs analysis and evaluation of new software systems; manages implementation of new software systems and applications; ensures coordination of strategy and initiatives; validates technical specifications and infrastructure requirements.
  • Provides technical support, system administration and problem resolution for enterprise software.
  • Utilizes best practices to implement, modify and upgrade enterprise software systems to support the needs of both the organization and system users.
  • Ensures all application maintenance, changes, and upgrades are communicated to both internal and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Implements systems and processes to ensure appropriate security, data integrity and data back-ups.
  • Produces and executes unit test plans and test scripts; analyzes output, and ensures modifications are made as necessary to meet objectives.
  • Assists with enforcing functional policies and procedures related to information systems and promotes a 'Cyber Security Awareness' culture.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Responsibilities may require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice, and on-call support.
  • Acts as the primary contact for the vendor of assigned systems.
  • Acts as the alternate system administrator for other enterprise systems.
  • Acts as an escalation point and mentor to other staff as needed.
  • Able to document complex business rules and interpret them into system workflow configurations.
  • Travels to local off-site meetings, conferences and training.
  • Assists in the development of strategic and tactical technology plans.
  • Serves on various technology and organizational teams as needed.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential.
