Senior Director, Enterprise Applications and ERP

PHINIAAuburn Hills, MI
Hybrid

About The Position

The Senior Director, Enterprise Applications and ERP will lead PHINIA’s enterprise applications strategy and a foundational business transformation across IT, Finance, Supply Chain, Plant Operations, and the broader enterprise. This role will help establish the modern digital core needed to improve global scale, process excellence, operational performance, and data-driven decision-making. SAP S/4HANA is the largest and most visible component of the role, but success will be measured by business adoption, process standardization, value realization, and sustainable capability building — not system deployment alone. The leader will drive enterprise application solutions across Finance and Supply Chain while partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales/Aftermarket, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and other IT teams. The successful candidate will be a proven enterprise change agent who can lead at scale, build trust with senior business leaders, influence across functions, and convert complex transformation priorities into measurable business outcomes. This leader will report directly to the SVP, Chief Information Officer and serve as a key member of the Global IT Leadership Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including significant responsibility for enterprise applications, ERP, global delivery, and business transformation.
  • 10+ years of SAP experience in complex business environments, with meaningful exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and global operations.
  • Proven leadership of at least one large-scale, full lifecycle SAP implementation or major ERP transformation; SAP S/4HANA experience in manufacturing is strongly desired.
  • Deep understanding of ERP-enabled business processes across Finance and Supply Chain, including record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, planning, materials, inventory, and logistics.
  • Experience operating in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive, industrial, or discrete manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with senior leaders across Finance, Supply Chain, Plant Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales/Aftermarket, and IT.
  • Strong experience managing global programs, complex stakeholder environments, system integrators, managed service providers, and distributed internal teams.
  • Experience building or maturing enterprise applications / ERP capabilities, including Centers of Excellence, global delivery models, offshore or nearshore teams, and partner management.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, executive governance, program execution, financial discipline, and benefits realization at scale.
  • Demonstrated success influencing enterprise process and operating model decisions across functions beyond direct organizational control.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience leading a senior leadership role in an SAP S/4HANA transformation.
  • Experience with RISE with SAP, SAP BTP, cloud integration, hyperscaler environments, or modern SAP architecture.
  • Experience in automotive, mobility, industrial manufacturing, or other complex global manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting acquisition integration, divestitures, carve-outs, or post-merger systems integration.
  • Experience strengthening internal capability through global talent hubs, including India-based delivery or Center of Excellence models.
  • MBA, master’s degree, or equivalent advanced business / technology education.

  • Partner closely with Plant Operations and Manufacturing leaders to ensure enterprise applications support production execution, operational continuity, and shop-floor integration needs.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales/Aftermarket, Data & Analytics, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, regional, and digital teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
  • Build trusted senior relationships and translate business priorities into a clear technology roadmap that balances transformation ambition with operational stability.
  • Build and mature PHINIA’s enterprise applications and ERP capabilities, including clear accountabilities, operating rhythms, delivery standards, and long-term support models.
