About The Position

Education & Referral Organization for Sexuality (EROS) is dedicated to promoting a healthy and respectful understanding of sexuality and gender through judgment-free peer education. Inclusive of all identities, backgrounds, and types of sexuality, EROS provides contemporary sexuality education through events, workshops, social media, performances, books and DVDs, and a referral database. EROS connects the campus community by providing presentations and information to students, classes, and organizations. EROS connects the greater San Francisco community by referring students to off-campus resources and collaborating with off-campus organizations for events. EROS introduces new students to their program with an annual open house, and inspires all students to pursue sexuality in their professional lives with the annual Career Fair. EROS acclimates students to the diverse and open culture that is present in San Francisco, as well as SFSU, improving retention rates and campus pride. EROS promotes consent, tolerance, diversity, and health with the goal of students feeling empowered about themselves and their sexuality.

Requirements

  • Current students at San Francisco State University enrolled in at least 6 units for undergraduates or 4 units for graduates.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of at least one semester in the EROS Volunteer Program.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates a minimum of 3 EROS sponsored events per semester, including the Annual Careers in Sexuality Symposium in Fall.
  • Responsible for the fiscal management of EROS, oversees purchases for the program including but not limited to, safer sex supplies, books, and office supplies.
  • Prepares and submits to the AS Business Office all requisitions for contracts and purchase orders.
  • Supervises the staff and volunteers; coordinates office hours of staff to be consistent with student/client needs.
  • Maintains historical and statistical records for the EROS program; provides up-to-date information of Human Sexuality and related resources.
  • Prepares and submits monthly and annual reports to Supervisor.
  • Coordinates room reservations using 25Live and updates the AS Program Event Calendar.
  • Makes design and social media requests to create marketing materials for annual and outreach events.
  • Responsible for updating the Program’s webpage, office guidelines and staff office hours.
  • Attends mandatory monthly All Staff Program meetings and scheduled trainings.
