The Emergency Department (ED) treats an average of more than 150 patients per day, handling acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The department is recognized by the American Heart Association as a STEMI receiving center and a Primary Stroke Center. Patients treated range from neonates to geriatrics. An extensive orientation program allows nurses to work autonomously with various clinical specialties. The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals. New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed. Job Summary: The ED Tech assists nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergent duties in the care of Emergency Department patients. They also perform duties as Unit Secretary, combining clinical and clerical aspects. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and are under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
