About The Position
As an Emergency Room Tech, you will support safe, cost-efficient patient care in the Emergency Department by performing delegated functions from an RN or physician. The role involves conducting selected diagnostics and procedures, assisting with patient transport and lifting, and providing general clerical and cleaning support to the unit. Success in this role requires effectively carrying out delegated tasks, supporting unit operations, and contributing to a safe and efficient environment.
Requirements
- High school GED in General Studies.
- Completion of an EMT, Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse program, or completion of one year of nursing school.
- One of the following Washington credentials: Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Medical Assistant Certification, or Registered Nursing Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (CPR).
- Medical Assistant–Phlebotomist: Washington credential required within six months.
Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the plan of care by performing common clinical procedures and tasks within scope of practice.
- Assist in making observations, gathering data, and identifying patient care needs.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Assist with patient transport and transfer.
- Assist with cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to safety and risk management standards.
