About The Position

The Emergency Department Tech performs duties under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN)/Charge Nurse and reports to the Shift Manager of the assigned area. The role is responsible for providing high-quality, individualized basic care activities within the ED Tech scope of practice, assisting and comforting patients throughout their healthcare journey.

Requirements

• Completion of EMT/Paramedic training or equivalent, or completion of Nursing Assistant certification.
• At least 6 months of experience as an Emergency Department Medical Tech or Nursing Assistant in an Emergency Department or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification.
• Employees hired or transferred into the position after January 1, 2005 must possess and maintain EMT certification.
• Behavioral management training as mandated by the hospital.

Nice To Haves

• Basic EKG course within 6 months of hire.
• Current California Certificate of Phlebotomy.
