Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced ER Manager to oversee the operations of our 7-bed emergency department. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a rural setting. As the ER Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, managing staff, and optimizing department workflows to ensure efficiency and quality.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted RN license in California
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related healthcare field required, Masters preferred
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS and TNCC certifications required
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience, minimum 5 years' experience as an ED RN/staff

Nice To Haves

  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Cerner experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the emergency department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to all patients.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support a team of healthcare professionals, including nurses and support staff.
  • Develop and implement department policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the emergency department, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Manage department budgets, resources, and staffing levels to optimize efficiency and maintain a high standard of care.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for the emergency department.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and high employee morale.
  • Stay current with best practices in emergency medicine and integrate them into department protocols.
  • Serve as a liaison between the emergency department and hospital administration, representing the interests and needs of the department.
