About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented associate, experienced or senior Equipment & Tool Engineer to join our team in Ridley Park, PA in support of multiple programs, including the H-47 Chinook and V-22 Osprey. This role is responsible for supporting tooling and equipment readiness, documentation, compliance, and lifecycle management across site operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 1+ years of experience working in a tool design, tool engineering, or tool validation role
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s degree
  • 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a Master’s degree
  • 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Master’s degree
  • Demonstrated experience with D33011 tool design documents and standards
  • Demonstrated experience with Philadelphia supplemental tool design documents
  • Working knowledge of ASME standards applicable to tooling and equipment
  • Familiarity with Siemens Teamcenter
  • Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Familiarity with CATIA V5

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of equipment and tooling used in manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test operations.
  • Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, safety, and production teams to ensure tools and equipment meet technical, operational, and safety requirements.
  • Troubleshooting tooling and equipment issues.
  • Developing improvements to support production efficiency and reliability.
  • Providing technical input for specifications, documentation, procurement, installation, and lifecycle management.
  • Defining tooling/equipment requirements by gathering needs from manufacturing, production, quality, and engineering teams and translating process needs into tool/equipment specifications.
  • Designing or supporting the design of tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, or support equipment, ensuring solutions are safe, practical, maintainable, and cost-effective.
  • Performing technical analysis and problem-solving, including troubleshooting tooling/equipment issues, performing root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Supporting continuous improvement and production recovery efforts.
  • Integrating with manufacturing processes by ensuring tools/equipment fit the intended process, workflow, and product requirements.
  • Coordinating with production, quality, industrial engineering, and suppliers.
  • Verifying tools and equipment meet functional, performance, and safety requirements.
  • Supporting test, inspection, and acceptance activities.
  • Creating and maintaining drawings, specifications, procedures, and change documentation.
  • Managing revisions and ensuring compliance with configuration control processes.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to build, procure, or modify equipment.
  • Tracking schedules, costs, and delivery commitments.
  • Ensuring equipment/tooling meets applicable safety, regulatory, and company standards.
  • Supporting hazard assessments and safe-use documentation.
  • Providing guidance to junior engineers or technicians.
  • Leading smaller technical efforts or work packages as a subject matter contributor.
