The City of Bend is accepting applications for one (1) regular, full-time Equipment Technician in the Fleet Department. This is an hourly, non-exempt (overtime eligible) position represented by the City of Bend Employee Association (COBEA). The City may use this recruitment to establish an eligibility list for future vacancies. The City of Bend is looking for a skilled and motivated Equipment Technician to help keep the vehicles and equipment that support our community operating safely and reliably. From police and fire vehicles to heavy construction equipment, snowplows, and support fleet vehicles, this role plays a critical part in maintaining the equipment City employees depend on every day. A typical day may include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, completing repairs, and working alongside a team of technicians to keep the City's fleet in top condition. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of equipment and evolving technologies, including modern diesel engines, advanced vehicle electronics, alternative fuel systems, and specialized municipal equipment.
