The Equipment Service Technician is a remote-based, customer-facing employee primarily working inside hospitals. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment used in surgical procedures, as well as providing installation support on complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic units. Individuals with experience in HVAC repair, Mechanics, Maintenance, Refrigeration, Boilers, Chillers, Equipment Repair, Diesel and Automotive Repair, Aviation Repair, Plumbing, and Electrical are often successful. This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. STERIS will conduct a 7-year driving record check as part of the onboarding process, requiring an acceptable driving record with a very limited number of moving violations, accidents, or driving-related convictions. This is a floating position requiring heavy travel, up to 75% of the time, with potential overnight travel Monday through Friday, including some weekends as needed. The incumbent will travel within areas including, but not limited to, Fresno, Bakersfield, Northern Los Angeles, and the central coast. This is a safety-sensitive position.
