About The Position

This is a part-time role supporting the Equipment Retail Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of a unique, growing business involving equipment and firearms. The position focuses on behind-the-scenes operations rather than traditional storefront retail. Responsibilities include managing online sales, customer communication, inventory, compliance documentation, order fulfillment, and maintaining website accuracy. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of firearms, firearm safety, and understand the importance of detail in regulated transactions. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, managing online product listings (pricing, descriptions, photos, availability, inventory), and preparing products for shipment or other business needs.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to commute to shipping locations as needed.
  • Must pass an extensive FBI background check.
  • Ability to lift between 25 and 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of firearms, firearm safety, and common firearm terminology.
  • Strong customer service, sales, and communications skills.
  • Understanding of firearm sales requirements, compliance, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with technology, e-commerce, and basic website administration.
  • Ability to work independently, use good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to occasionally work weekends to support firearm shows.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the equipment and firearms business.
  • Support online sales and customer communication.
  • Handle inventory management and compliance documentation.
  • Manage order fulfillment.

  • Prepare and organize products for shipment, delivery, storage, or other business needs.
  • Ensure transactions are handled in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Maintain transaction and inventory records.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Process online orders.
  • Work with email, spreadsheets, inventory/POS systems, data entry, and a CMS or e-commerce platform.
  • Work independently, use good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
