About The Position

As a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient climate solutions for buildings, homes and transportation, Trane Technologies is seeking an Equipment Project Manager for its Bedford NH Commercial Sales Office. This role is primarily focused on administrative and financial responsibilities, with technical proficiency in HVAC systems being advantageous. The Equipment Project Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. Key accountabilities include the administration, implementation, and management of projects, ensuring adherence to scope of work, schedule, and budget. Strong communication, organizational, prioritization, follow-up, and multitasking skills are essential, along with computer systems knowledge. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses a strong sense of urgency, is oriented towards lean processes, and can learn quickly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment through hands-on training. Experience in customer service and financial management is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in project management or construction management preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Financial management/Budgeting background preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft software, Teams, and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.
  • Experience in customer service and financial management required.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical proficiency in HVAC systems and equipment would be advantageous.
  • Construction/HVAC industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters, and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex equipment applications.
  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Compares estimated ship dates with contractors’ project schedule and ensures compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
  • Creates and revises project schedules as per customer needs including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
  • Responsible for creating detailed cost estimates.
  • Resolves major deviations from scope w/ team after Project Scope Validation.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
  • Responsible for the preparation of Trane material & vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials & approving payments.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders & issuing purchase orders for vendor orders.
  • Generates work orders for equipment start-ups.
  • Responsible for working with customers, warehouses and claims to handle freight damaged equipment or missing freight.
  • Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, & communicating w/ customers & assigned staff.
  • Responsible for the successful transition of warranty to the service process.
