About The Position

The Equipment Operator runs dozers, loaders, excavators, haul trucks, and other large equipment used for paving or for moving, grading, and compacting earth, sand, gravel, stone, and asphalt materials. The role includes conducting routine daily equipment inspections and keeping equipment clean and safe.

The operator loads trucks and plant equipment, feeds bins with aggregate materials, and helps maintain appropriate material quantities. The position also supports equipment upkeep, completes required paperwork, and follows safety, compliance, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Adhere to safety protocols and properly use approved personal protective equipment, including respirators when required.
• Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to load trucks and feed bins with aggregate materials, maintaining appropriate quantities of material to be loaded.
• Load material into bins, crushers, trucks, or the plant.
• Keep equipment clean and orderly and maintain its appearance.
• Perform daily safety and visual inspections to ensure equipment can be operated safely.
• Maintain proper tire air pressure and fluid levels, and perform minor repairs as needed.
• Follow safety, compliance, and environmental requirements at all times.
• Complete necessary paperwork and assist with other required duties.
• Communicate, improve, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments.
• Promote a culture of safety and demonstrate safe behaviors.
