About The Position

Daikin Applied is hiring an Equipment Operator at its Dayton, Ohio facility. The role operates basic warehouse equipment and Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) to move materials throughout the facility and complete tasks such as unloading, loading, put away, running, and picking. Operators use basic computer programs, Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions, and handheld scanners, while following safety and operational procedures. The work is in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment and offers growth opportunities. The scheduled shift is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The starting wage is $19.00. Employment is contingent upon completion of pre-employment requirements, which may include verification of employment history and education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis testing. Work visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials.
Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
Ability to use hand tools for extended periods.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
High school education/GED, or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

Follow all safety and operational policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Operate basic warehouse equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Safely transport materials throughout the facility using Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV), including unloading, loading, put away, runner, and picking tasks.
Conduct pre-operation inspections.
Use basic computer programs, Warehouse Management System (WMS) functions, and handheld scanners to complete daily tasks.
Identify quality issues and escalate them accordingly.
Take on increasing responsibility for operating equipment and using different types of equipment.
Maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
