About The Position
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The role requires working in all weather, including extreme heat and cold. Formerly Enviro Services, now part of United Rentals, provides erosion-control and environmental solutions for pipeline, power-line, and civil projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 1–3 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large construction projects.
- Ability to operate equipment independently and work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of construction-project safety hazards and inspection principles and techniques.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to meet site-specific requirements, such as OSHA 10 and TWIC, as requested.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks, including pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, and document them in compliance with company policies.
- Participate in routine maintenance, such as greasing, and ensure heavy equipment is stored safely and securely.
- Communicate effectively with site personnel and practice workplace safety.
- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
- Understand ground signals and maintain constant eye contact with ground personnel.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
