About The Position

Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Under general supervision, operates power-driven ditching equipment to excavate trenches for pipelines; must be capable of making minor repairs and adjustments; may be required to perform all field repairs. Works under general supervision; digs ditches; back fills; moves materials and equipment by hand; loads and unloads trucks; assists in installing and dismantling equipment; frequently acts as helper to service mechanics or meter repair mechanics; must understand purpose of and have ability to use standard tools such as wrenches, stock and dies, etc.; must be able to cut and thread pipe properly and to do simple pipe fitting; must be able to qualify for and acquire commercial driver’s license; may from time to time be required to perform various routine operating duties.

Requirements

  • High school education or its equivalent
  • Mechanical aptitude and experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of pipeline construction
  • Minimum of six (6) to twelve (12) months training
  • Must secure and maintain a valid first aid card
  • Must successfully complete and comply with the Company’s certification program for equipment operators
  • Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered
  • Must be able to perform heavy work such as running compactor and jackhammer
  • Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks
  • Must reside within a twenty (20) mile radius from district office (64500 O.B. Riley Rd, Bend, OR 97703) no later than 90 days from your start date in this role
