About The Position

As an Equipment Operator – Matting Solutions at United Rentals, you will operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently as part of the day-to-day work. The role requires working in all weather, including extreme heat and cold. Matting Solutions, formerly YAK ACCESS, provides right-of-way access solutions for pipeline, power line, and civil projects, including access planning, clearing, site work, and restoration.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write fluently in English.
Valid driver’s license.
0–1 year of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large construction projects.
Ability to operate equipment independently and work with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of construction project safety hazards and inspection principles and techniques.
Skill in reading and interpreting access and construction plans.
Excellent communication skills.
Willingness to travel out of town during the week or on weekends and work extensive overtime.

Responsibilities

Perform daily safety and maintenance checks and document pre- and post-equipment inspections in compliance with company policies.
Participate in routine maintenance, such as greasing, and ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
Communicate effectively with site personnel and practice workplace safety.
Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain daily logs of equipment usage and maintenance.
Understand ground signals and maintain constant eye contact with ground personnel.
Perform other duties as assigned.
