Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in golf Maintenance operating all types of equipment
  • Louisiana Drivers license
  • Ability to operate large equipment safely in high traffic areas.
  • Ability to see and determine issues machinary may develop
  • Ability to follow directions to a tee.

Nice To Haves

  • Outside equipment certifications (even though Audubon requires certification of its own)
  • Ability to work in all conditions outdoors

Responsibilities

  • Mows greens, tees, fairways, and rough with appropriate maintenance equipment; rakes bunkers with power rakes.
  • Aerifies greens; verticuts tees and greens, operates sod cutter, mows rough with deckmower, and operates other equipment as directed.
  • Utilizes all manner of hand equipment such as; shovels, string trimmers, flymowers, push mowers, walkbehind greens mowers, edgers, hand rakes, blowers, etc.
  • Performs daily set up procedures such as; setting tee markers and cups on greens daily, maintains ball washers, remove debris, sand tee & fairway divots, maintains flower beds, etc.
  • Ensures that the equipment cooling system is working at all times, checks oil levels and refills fuel daily, and reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager Immediately.
  • Cleans and properly stores equipment after each use.
  • Under direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals using hand operated sprayers.
  • Operates the larger equipment such as front-end loaders, fork lifts and tractors when needed.
  • Be able to work holidays (as defined by Audubon Nature Institute) as well as weekends, early morning shifts and overtime as required.
  • Performs other duties as directed by his or her supervisor.
