About The Position
The City of Hampton Public Works Wastewater Operations is looking for an Equipment Operator V to operate specialized, complex heavy-duty equipment in the construction, maintenance, and repair of the City's public works infrastructure. Requirements
- High school diploma or successful completion of GED.
- Five (5) or more years of full-time equivalent experience with high-level proficiency in equipment operation or closely related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City’s current substance abuse policy.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must possess a State of Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or a valid driver’s license and obtain a State of Virginia CDL Class A within 180 days of employment.
- Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
