About The Position

Sundt is looking for Trackhoe Heavy >1/2cu operators. This role requires prior experience, with a preference for candidates with mining experience due to the nature of the work on steep slopes. The operator must be available to work overtime, pass a pre-employment drug screen, and will be compensated at a rate of $36.64 per hour plus a cash fringe benefit. Work hours are expected to be 60+ per week, with a weekly per diem of $1,246 for qualified candidates. The estimated project duration is one year. The operator will safely operate a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and water trucks. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk-arounds of assigned equipment to ensure safe operation. The role also involves maintaining positive working relationships, producing high-quality work safely and productively, providing feedback on material and equipment availability, seeking opportunities for improvement and knowledge sharing, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.

Requirements

  • Must have prior experience as a Trackhoe Heavy >1/2cu operator.
  • Must be available to work overtime.
  • Must pass pre-employment Drug Screen.
  • Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III) and six plus years’ experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry.
  • Must have an in-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards.
  • Must effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
  • Will climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Will lift, push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
  • Move in and around confined, cluttered and uneven areas.
