About The Position

Sundt is looking for a Dozer Operator with prior experience. Preference will be given to candidates with mining experience, as that background closely aligns with the pioneering work we will be performing on steep slopes. The role requires availability to work overtime and to pass a pre-employment drug screen. The rate is $35.56/hr. plus cash fringe benefit. Working hours are 60+ per week, with a $1,246 weekly per diem offered to qualified candidates only. The estimated project duration is 1 year.

Requirements

Must have a minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III), and six plus years’ experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment.
Must be able to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.
Possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Must be available to work overtime.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

Safely operates a variety of heavy equipment, including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and water trucks.
Responsible for preventative maintenance and pre-shift walk-around of assigned equipment to ensure safe operation.
Maintain positive working relationships with all members of the crew.
Produce high-quality work, safely and productively at all times.
Provide feedback to ensure all materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work.
Look for opportunities for improvement in all tasks, means, and methods regarding the work and be willing to learn from others.
Continually seek opportunities to share knowledge and teach others.
High proficiency in all related equipment preventative maintenance.
Inspect subordinates' work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies, and take any necessary corrective action.
Eliminate WASTE such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time.
