About The Position

ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS ONLY! The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways & Aviation, Western District is looking for an Equipment Operator Lead/Journey 3 to help us Keep Alaska Moving! In this role, you will help maintain safe and efficient airport and highway operations. Responsibilities include snow and ice control, pavement maintenance, runway inspections, equipment operation and maintenance, and repairs to airport infrastructure such as signs, lighting, and fencing. You will also support Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations, conduct airfield inspections, assist with wildlife hazard management, perform airport security inspections, and help ensure compliance with FAA and airport safety requirements.

Requirements

  • A Class A Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and N-Tanker endorsement is required at time of hire.
  • Must comply with the DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy and procedures.
  • Must pass a required pre-employment drug test.
  • Must provide consent to the Employer to review driver information in accordance with 49 CFR 382.
  • Must register with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse prior to performing safety sensitive duties.
  • Must possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) per federal regulations (49 CFR 383).
  • If convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, may not hold a position in this job class in accordance with the Federal Omnibus Consolidated Appropriations Act of 1997 (PL-104-208).
