About The Position
Operates equipment related to the construction and maintenance of parks department facilities.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees in order to receive work orders or instructions for any project.
- Ability to read operator's manuals and work orders.
- Skill in the operation of equipment such as tractors, mowers, trimmers, dump trucks, backhoes and other concrete and carpentry tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of experience.
- Valid Texas CDL driver's license required.
Responsibilities
- Mows, trims and aerates parks grounds.
- Prepares and maintains ballfields for use in practice or regular play.
- Constructs new equipment and facilities.
- Maintains and installs irrigation systems.
- Applies fertilizers and pesticides depending on need.
- Prepares swimming pools for use during summer.
- Maintains equipment.
- Maintains records of work performed and submits reports to supervisor.
- Works overtime when needed.
- Performs related duties as required.
