About The Position

Iona University is seeking an Equipment Operator Groundsperson to join their team. This full-time position is responsible for the daily cleanup and maintenance of the campus grounds. The role involves a variety of tasks related to landscaping, groundskeeping, and minor repairs, ensuring the campus remains clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing. The position is located in New Rochelle, NY.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• At least one year in a grounds related field
• Must be able to lift 100lbs and do daily physical labor
• Heavy equipment operation and ability to work with power tools
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Daily cleanup and maintenance of the campus grounds
• Mow lawns, rake leaves, shovel snow
• Repair concrete and paved areas
• Hedge shrubs, prune trees or remove if necessary
• Install and repair sprinkler systems
• Plant flowers, install landscaping
• Golf turf maintenance
• Dig trenches
• Fertilizing and pest management
• Maintain a clean shop
• Minor vehicle and equipment repairs
• Help with off-loading deliveries
• Moving heavy objects
• Dumpster control
• Fence installations and repair
• Storm drain maintenance
• Christmas decorating
• Perform any other duties deemed necessary
