About The Position

The Equipment Operator B position with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources offers a chance to work in the splendor of Tuscarora Forest District and support the care of Pennsylvania's public lands. Requirements

One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more
Any equivalent combination of experience or training
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with tanker endorsement and air brake restriction removed
Meet the PA residency requirement
Able to perform essential job functions
Pass a drug screening

Responsibilities

Operate graders, backhoes, bulldozers, rollers, forklifts, and large loaders for construction and maintenance tasks
Drive heavy vehicles such as dump trucks, tankers, and tractor trailers for various work operations
Perform manual labor and assist with forestry grounds, picnic areas, and facilities maintenance
Complete inspections, perform preventive maintenance, and handle minor repairs on assigned equipment
Assist with fire prevention, suppression activities, and prescribed fire efforts
Support district programs including tree removal, surveying, seeding, erosion control, and wildlife projects
