About The Position

The Equipment Operator A position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) gives you the chance to make a real difference for veterans and their spouses at the Delaware Valley Veterans' Home. Requirements

Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more
Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
Ability to perform essential job functions
Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (conditional offer of employment)

Responsibilities

Operate passenger cars, trucks, vans, buses, and an invalid coach to transport residents for medical appointments, treatments, transfers, and activities
Make local and long distance pickups and deliveries of materials, mail, supplies, and medical items
Operate snow removal, cinder spreading, and hauling equipment during inclement weather and maintenance work
Complete inspections and safety checks of vehicles and equipment before operation
Perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance, washing, waxing, greasing, and assist auto mechanics with major repairs
Load and unload vehicles, maintain work areas, keep records and logs, complete paperwork, and use hand and power tools properly
