This position involves operating, controlling, and adjusting equipment to optimize barge unloading/loading or material handling. The role requires performing safety and operational checks on various types of equipment, including mobile, cleaning, material handling, and emission controls equipment. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining roads, ramps, berms, and stock piles, as well as keeping dock material hoppers, equipment, aprons, loading areas, and driveways clean and clear of material buildup. Maintaining and cleaning the inside of the dock building is also a key responsibility. A thorough walk-through of the entire dock working area once per shift is required to identify and report any problems or potential issues. The role is physically demanding and requires comfort working around water, specifically on and around docks on the Minnesota River.
