About The Position

The Equipment Mechanic is responsible for setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service on Company vehicles and equipment. The position requires you to operate a variety of hand/power tools and working with pickup trucks, trailers, small and large pavement preservation equipment, diesel trucks and trailers, and other Company equipment. This position may work approximately 50% of the time in the shop, and the other 50% of the time on job sites with a fully-equipped maintenance truck. Overtime and frequent out-of-town work (up to 5 days) required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent;
  • 2-3 years of previous experience performing vehicle and equipment maintenance;
  • Must be hard-working, dependable, and able to meet the physical demand;

Nice To Haves

  • Class A CDL license with tanker endorsement is a bonus

Responsibilities

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of operations equipment during operations and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnoses, rebuilds and repairs vehicles and equipment.
  • Performs inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepares and sets up equipment daily use by asphalt crew members.
  • Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
